i have a few female platties that are about to drop and i dont want to put them into traps so i was think about getting a trap turning it on to its side attaching some suction cups to the handles and attaching it to the side of the tank leaving just enough room for the baby fry to swim into and not the adults,

now i dont know weather to put it at the top or bottem of the tank and also weather to put small fry sizes holes over the sides and the base of the trap so there are more ways to get.

any ideas anyone

or you could just get a load of floating cabomba hornswort and elodia just leave it floating in a big ball in the corner of the tank and the fry just love it in there... they will favor that sort of set u over a breeding net as they can conseal them selves much better

i was going to cover it with some sort of moss to hide it i just thought it may be safer for them and then there would be no rush to remove them

I doubt they'd connect going in there with safety. Plain floating plants would give them a better chance of surviving.

Also, your signautre is way too long. Check out the signature guidelines in the 'Board Announcements and Suggestions' forum, and edit accordingly please. :)
