Hi folks,
Just wondered if anyone has any experience of breeding pentazona barbs? I have kept them in a community aquarium for a couple of years and think they're great fish
I recently came across someone jetissoning a 5ft tank which I have adopted as a breeding tank, I am yet to decide what I'm going to use it for in the long run, maybe split it up for bettas or let a group of angels grow in it. With no other stock ready to breed yet I was considering letting my pentazonas have a go. I have a couple of (apparently) gravid females and some smaller fish who research tells me might be the males.
Does anyone know if it's just a case of separate them into the breeding tank with a mesh bottom and let them go? Does anyone have any water parameters they find best?
And finally - yes - I know they aren't 'easy' fish to breed, but I'm always up for a challenge and these guys deserve a chance.
It would be great to hear everyone's thoughts and experiences.
