need a little help
how do u know when your oscars are about to breed because one of mine has a tube hanging out and i dont fink it was there befor lol
are oscars mouth brooders or egg layers and what colour would the eggs be?

Oscars are egg layers. I have a pair that have layed eggs 15 times before they hatched any, so don't be suprised if they eat them. as far as knowing when they are going to lay, they will do there little shaking thing , clean there nest area, and chase any other fish away , usually 1 to 2 days of it. after they lay the eggs the eggs should be a tan color if they are fertile. they should hatch in 3 or 4 days and be little wigglers for a couple of days. if you have other fish in the tank, you might want to remove them if possible for there safety. because oscars are very protective . be sure you have a flat rock or even a ceramic tile for them to lay on, and let them do there thing. good luck!!!! :)
