I am thinking about trying to breed mollies and I was wondering whether it was possible to breed them in a community tank?

Mollies breed period. What did you mean by whether it's possible? Were you referring to size of the tank and crowding? Give us some more information about your setup: size of the tank, what else is in it, what kind of filter you have.

I have got a 30 litre tank. 6 neon tetras, 3 scissor tails, 3 mollies and 1 platy

Mollies need very good quality water or they suffer plenty of problems unless you add salt, but a lot of community fish cant tolerate that.

How ever if u buy some mollies they will breed and produce fry very easily and well cared for, plenty of water chages and quality flake food and a little live fodd now and then will help.

3 scissor tails..... well they will love you.. they love to catch baby fish.

While the odd one may surive the 3 scissor tails will pollish most of the others off.

AH. so it might be worth getting na seperate tank to breed molllies in then.

sorry to say, its overstocked, 30 litres is about 7 gallons, about 20 inch of fish!
you really need to either take some fish back, or get a newer, bigger tank.
so answer to your question, no mollies shouldnt be allowed to breed in your tank

so how many fish could be kept in a 30 litre tank?

The general rule is 1" of fish for every gallon. This number goes doen when you have larger first that are 6" or larger normally as they make more of a mess than a bunch of smaller fish. You can go over 1" per gallon, but you will most definitely have to do larger water changes and more often.
