Breeding kribensis

Naw - you got lucky - if they both go into the cave together then everything should be fine - mine faught like cat and dogs for about 5 weeks then one day she invited him and all went well - she didn't have a cave - they dug a cave under a piece of driftwood; and a nice cave it was.

Will you be preparing some fry food?

Krib frys don't need special or fry food in a well aged aquarium. Also they eat a lot of plant matter....
What if it's not a well aged aquarium? What would you feed them if they're in a breeding tank?

I wouldn't breed them in a well aged aquarium..... so i haven't given it a lot of thought but a mix of foods including bbs and fry food - whatever i had on hand.

I feed all cichlid fry on frozen lobster eggs, for a couple of weeks, then add the ‘usual’ frozen foods, grated when still frozen, and powdered flake.

Now that is interesting idea; and where the heck does one get frozen lobster eggs?

Some of the frozen fish food manufacturers do them. They’re the same size as brine shrimp eggs but even more nutritious, giving quicker growth. And of course it’s a lot easier than hatching brine shrimp.

Yea that's the key thing - less hassle than hatching bbs which gets annoying esp given their short shelf life. Some frys require them of course (movement) but after 6 weeks of hatching them.... (i had a species that require long feeding time until they would migrate to dry foods).

I did do a google search but couldnt' find them - the closest thing i found was 'frozen fish eggs' for reef tanks.

Oh. I didn’t know they weren’t available over there.

Might but probably not - also regardless they will fight for 3 or 4 weeks - (time is somewhat dependent on a lot of factors). this is normal. If he 'wins' they become a pair and if 'she' wins they don't - it isn't really quite like this - the he and she win part; but it comes down to whether she will accept him. You don't have to feed them special foods - flakes/bug bites are fine. Kribs do require a lot of greens so if you don't have plants and stuff then be sure the food you feed them include some greens.
Sounds like my dating profile.
