Breeding Hm Betta.

is this a good deal http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/auc...&1200208213 ??

and can anyone tell me how to bread HM Betta's

i am really interested into breeding some betta's and i really like the HM betta's

u should do some research online before u try breeding bettas, or anything really. heres some links that helped me out

http://www.fishforums.net/content/Bettas/3...ring-betta-fry/

and i'll let u know now, ull put more money into breeding them, then u'll probably get back (from wat i've been told, but i wanted the baby fishes anyway so i didnt mind putting out money for it)

and that link wont show up the auction...if u can get another link from the page u were talkin about n put it up. i was told most of the time the sellers/breeders have a female that they can send with for a price if u contact them about a female to match the male or vice versa i guess.

Usually, but for most of them, trying to get a photo of the female is like pulling teeth. Definitely worth a try, though.

Are you talking about just breeding a pair of HM bettas, or trying to breed to get halfmoons? I just read an article from a breeder that I used to buy all my fish from... they always had amazing finnage... and apparently her secret is to cross halfmoon plakats with rosetails, which makes a lot of sense. http://www.bettysplendens.com/articles/pag...?articleid=1044

Oh yeah, and there are plenty of great articles there about bettas and about breeding them, so take a look around and decide if breeding is for you!

Definatly research before breeding. There are already so many unwanted bettas out there why create more? Personally I feel you should only breed an animal if you're trying to do something to improve the species!

^^ it depends on why he/she wants them bred. I'm going to breed my bettas sometime in the near future because I've done my research, i have a friend that has successfully bred bettas and is willing to help me, and i am breeding them because i want to keep ALL the babies that survive, hopefully at least 20 survive when i do it, because i have a whole house and pleanty of time to take care of them. :)

I dont worry about the $$, the joy you get out of raising them is well worth it, its not like dog breeding (i do that too, AKC pomeranians) but with fish you plan on keeping its not a worry if they will be unwanted or not.

i want to keep all of my fish.i love the Halfmoons the best thats why i want to breed some more. So i wont have to pay like $20 per each one! And then ill be able to make my own kind once i get good at it like the colors i want and stuff.
