can you please tell me how many females and males i need to breed guppys cheers

buy one male for every 2-3 females. after a while, they should start to breed. but try not to inbreed, choose some guppies that have shorter fins.

Also don't buy very/heavily pregnant females as the move from the shop to your tank is very stressful on them and takes a heavy toll on them.
How many gallons is your tank and how long has it been set up? Guppys breed very quickly and produce lots of fry on a monthly basis so it is easy to get over run with them.

There are a few things to think about BEFORE you breed....you realize They can have big amounts of fry, every 4 weeks? I’m going to say the max is 100, but it may be more. Also, these are probably the hardest Livebearers to get rid of, as they are pretty common.

And about fry....
  • Yes, fry are adorable. When you first see them in your tank, you think “Oh my gosh, I want to save them, and grow them up and keep them all!”. This is great, I know the feeling. However, these fish can have massive amounts of fry.
  • All these fry need homes. I can pretty much guarantee you don’t have 50 friends who are willing to take fry each month. LFS will sometimes take some, but you have to check with them. Do not expect money for them, unless they are a rarer type. And still…we are talking pennies, most likely.
  • If you don’t separate your fry, your fry will have fry. And then they will have more fry. You can very quickly have hundreds of fry. I recommend separating your male and female fry as soon as you can sex them. Don’t wait. This is what will get you. Also, check your female tank frequently. Some Males are late-developing, and will look like females for a long time. Once they get their gonopodium…they could impregnate every female in that tank. That’s a lot more fry.
Once you have thought all this through, you need at least 2 females per male, more if you want a better chance of breeding.

Up to, and sometimes over 100 per month, per Guppy. They are little breeding machines. :p

allso what other fish are livebearers sorry for all the questions new to this

Mollies, Platies, Swordtails, Endlers, Mosquito Fish, Stingrays....tons others. :p

The most common are Platies, Swordies, Mollies, Guppies, and Endlers, though. :)

Guppys can produce huge quantitys of fry as annastasia said, but the average batch per females is about 20-30fry. If you consider a single female can do this and does every month, by the end of the year you could have up to 240 guppys from a single female...

Of course, the "average" number depends on the age, and the size of the female...but yes, it isn't very common to get to 100, or over. Usually the max is around 70. :)

could u pm me info on those fish! they sound cool  .

Well any ones in particular? There are tons of types of rays in particular, many grow huge and not suited to community tanks..
Endlers are a reletive of guppys and pretty much the same thing as far as care and stocking goes although they are a bit harder to breed.
Mosquito fish as similar to guppys and pretty much the same as care goes as to guppys and stocking goes too.
