Heyaa x

i dont supose you know muuch about honey gouramis? iv got a lil prob

i bought for my aquarium today 3 gouramis. 2 honey were together with vibrant brown lines across there bodies so i prosumed they were both females. then i picked the brightest red honey gourami as i thinkb males are brighter. however now one of my honeys has gone the colour a male does in breeding season. is it breeding season now? also im worried about if they do breed, what to do. my tanks stock is:

. 5 neon tetras
. 3 honey gouramis (one red honey)
. 4 ottos
. 2 platy's.

i have no spare tank and im not sure weather i need to seperate them when they have released there eggs or whatever.

also, they were in a tank together at the pet store, but would they breed in such short time of moving in? i got them today about 4 hours ago?
thanks x

In the wild they have a breeding season but not in the hubby as the temps are constant.

They will only breed if u decide to do it propley with a breeding tank, they do not like other fish around as these will eat the eggs etc etc

If you dont want to breed then them then dont worry they will be fine i'm sure.

mine have just bred in community tank - so they do do it with other fish around (might be rare but i'm not sure)
they didnt build a bubble nest just did it in the floating plants
so i floated the plants into a mesh breeding net and i have pin heads with hair tails swimming around in there

mine too have just 'done the deed' in my community tank also, the bubblenest seems to go completely around the top of the tank due to the filter i suppose. i don't quite know what's going to happen next or if any eggs/fry will survive - i'm quite new to this but it was so exciting to watch them spawning. the dad has become very protective of the nest and the other fish in my tank haven't really bothered with him much. my worry is my tank needs cleaning as it is becoming a bit grimey but i'm aprehensive about doing this at the moment - any suggestions anybody????
