Im looking at turning my 3ft tank into a species tank, and want to try my hand at breeding something. I was going top have a livebearer breeding tank, just plant it heavily and let nature take its course but i want something a little different.

I was thinking about getting some Corys and breeding them, i know that it can be a little more difficult to get them to breed and i would like the challenge.

Whats the best way to set up a breeder, should i let the eggs be layed (If i decide to go with corys) then partition that part of the tank off or should i buy a smaller tank to transfer the eggs into?

Does anyone have a suggestion of a different species of fish to try my hand at?

Thanks all.

hi Cooper2085

corydoras are not as hard to breed as you may think as long as you have mature males and females.
females are wider and stockyer from a top view just condition them for a week or 2 on flake ,tubafix, bloodworms ,and frozen foods ,and pellets ,and other high proiten foods ,then perform cool water changes to get them spawning provide a few amozon sword plant for them ,iv found it best to trancefair the eggs in to a small round container floating in your tank with a air stone dangling into it once they hatch move them to a bigger container about 10inch x 8 for a week or so floating in the tank with an air stone ,then you will need a growing on tank the bigger the better really untill they are big enuff to go in the main tank with the pairents :good:

Thanks for the replies, could someone post some pics of a Cory tank please? And also of how you have seperated the eggs into a tub? Thanks!
