how do u have ur tank set up for breeding corys
im gonna breed my peppered, and sterbai corys

so do u use something for them to breed on etc

no m8 superb water conditions plenty of conditioning and fingers crossed is the norm :)

Just keep them in a normal tank and look after them. Good food and regular water changes will allow the fish to come into breeding condition. Then when the weather changes they will often start breeding. Doing big (75%) daily water changes will often encourage them to breed, especially if the new water is a couple of degrees cooler than the tank water.

hi chris
all i have in my tanks is amzon sword plants and a few caves ,and when mine spawn 9 times out ov 10 they lay the eggs on the glass, but the last time my schultzei corydoras spawned i pulled the amozon swords up floated them on the top upside down in the corners and they layed on the amzon swords allot more wich was allot easyer for me to collect the eggs.
it was just amater ov snaping the leaves with the eggs on and puting them into a flaoting container rather than removeing them from the glass :good:

I will continue to this...
I have breeding groups of plenty of different corys, and now have noticed that paleatus eggs are almost all white, or very fast gets bad... just white, no fungus.
what's a problem? I leave eggs to same tank where are the adults, I don't touch them, so eggs stays at the same place where fish had laid them (glass, good water flow). :/

The males might be sterile or there is too much water movement and the sperm is being washed away before it fertilises the eggs. Excessive chemicals in the water could be damaging the eggs, or may have caused problems to the parents and made them sterile.
It could also be too cold or high nitrates.

more info... I put some aeneus egg to same place where paleatus eggs were, same conditions etc. aeneus eggs ok and now wigglers. so paleatus males or females are sterile... or there is some other problem with parent fish?

cool ill keep that in mind as i just brought Breeding group Bronze Corydoras Aeneus Catfish 2xM 3xF
breed every time u do a big water change they sed so hopefully this will work for me lol

you can also just have some ice cubes in the tank, to get quick "cold rain" in tank.
works here very well... :good:
