ok bare with me this isn't totally stupid. anyway I have a large tank which I am going to divide into two as breeding areas. however the divider arrived and it has large holes in it. so water is going to be the same conditions in both sections, so will both betas and Sterbi Corry breed at the same temp? oh was going to reduce the large holes by covering with netting so fry can't pass between.

thanks

I think bettas need slightly higher temps for normal living conditions, although Ive no clue on breeding conditions and corydoras require a lower temp, so you will need to find a common ground temp for them. You need the divider to have holes in for the water flow, unless of course your running two heaters and two filters, one on either side.

I'm planning on the one heater and the 2 sponge filters currently the betta is sitting at 25C and I haven't a clue what the Sterbi Corry need as they like the higher temp. if it doesn't work that way I can always use another tank, just trying to think ahead for fry space

Sterbai's are perfectly fine at 25 and you find that they spawn after a drop in temp from a water change.

ah, sounds ideal then, i'll stick them in the discus tank which they were bought for and then put them in the other tank at 25C when I do the water change. i'll cut up a net curtain and boil it (hate the things anyway) and wrap it round the divider, hopefully that should let both sides hold the temp and prevent fry swimming through
