Breeding Bettas

hi i am conditioning my hm pair from 1 week and the problem is that the male makes the nest at night under the cup ,which pops during the day and he don't even make the nest during day time.
what should i do?

temperature=26 degree Celsius.
water hight-5 inch

tempt needs upping slightly to 28, can he see the female at all? you've been conditioning for 1 week? if so then no need to worry about the nest as you have at least another week of conditioning

My old male was really picky with water height he wldnt breed unless the water was 4"or under lol

thanks my male is able to see the female for 5 mins in a day and temp i am going to raise but he don't have any bubble nest till now

Is there a lid on the tank or is it open topped? a lid will keep the humidity in which will help the bubbles stay put, the water also needs to be very still, either use a sponge filter on the opposite side of the tank to the cup bubbling slowly or none at all and just use lots of live plants, bubbles tend to stick better if the water is slightly aged i.e not too many water changes, sometimes males build better bubble nests if they are given a square of bubble wrap than a poly cup, now they are done conditioning you can float the female permanently in her container for the male to see, he should start building in a day or two once he sees the female is ready for breeding and he has got over flirting with her! if he still doesn't breed perhaps he is too old? how old is he? unless you bred him yourself it is difficult to pin point the age, he may just be too old, give them a few almond leaves too, this will help soften the water and perhaps help the bubbles also he may build a nest under one

Keep your temperature right at 27C if you can and stop all external air flow that might destroy a nest. You will soon see a good enough bubble nest or you need to feed him better. A male in top condition, at that temperature, can almost be bred without worrying about him first building a nest. Of course you need a fully ready female for him or things can proceed to a disaster.
