How do you breed betta fish, and how many eggs would they have approximately?

I've done that multiple times... But the results tend to vary, so I thought I'd ask here since people here were bound to have more success at this.

I have tried my hand at breeding bettas in the past. IIRC I got 50 or so fry from one spawning.
