I know that alot of people breed guppies and those fish for food and thats okay with people. But what if that was done with bettas? Would you think that thats wrong? Or would you think thats okay? Preferably the fry, but I know that some people do feed big grown platies etc. to fish.

uhhhm,it would be kind of hard. I think people breed guppies for food because guppies are self multiplying. Breeding them is nowhere near as difficult as bettas. So days and days of work would hardly be worth one meal.

but what if you kept like 1/2 of the bettas, and feed the other half to like some other kinds of fry? Just VTs by the way. Nooone should feed any rare bettas to anything.

i dont c how it would b any different but u gotta look at it from the end of the one who breeds these bettas, im thinking if sumone did this, they would be putting more into it than they would be getting out.

I think it would be silly to find that cruel and see it as being ok with guppies at the same time... but I'm sure someone will find a way to do it. :)

There aren't many fish in the wild that are safe from being food for something else eventually.

Like the others I'd say it's simply a bad idea logistically.

Guppys have about 40-60 fry with no need of help

Bettas have over 100 eggs That need live-foods and frozen foods

I feed my fish Convict fry.. :)

Well BL, im sure u feed ur bettas and guppys brine shrimp right? well their still liveing and that makes them no more or less differant than guppy or betta fry. the both live and they both feal pain so breeding any kinda fish for food can hardly be considered evil.
