Breeding Attempt... Not Possible?

Well I guess she is getting what she wants, an older bigger male. Now I just hope she is willing to wait a bit longer until he builds a nest, if he does. Or maybe its the tank that makes them not wait to build a bubble nest... ugh so many wonders!

It's a 10 gallon with live plants and a fliter, room keeps it around 75-78. It can get to 80 depending on the weather but thats only when it passes 100 outside (never can know with florida!)

Ok ill probably do that then, maybe the small current is what's bothering them when they make the bubble nest.. hmm..

probably, do you have anything for him to nest under? mine loves nesting under half of a polystyrene cup

Yes, my friend added extra long live plants that she had in a bigger tank, that way the leaves would float at the top and he could build the nest under them (its like a mini forest). But before I brought him over to her breeder tank he was making nests in randon corners in his previous home. So he may not need anything, if he doesnt start building a nest in the next couple days like he normally does then I'll probably add the cup in just in case.

As for the origional male that we wanted to pair with the lovely odd ball girl he started to make a bubble nest in his small tank that he is in now, which is also the first time he has ever done it. Talk about fustraiting that he wouldnt do it in the breeder tank! We decided that he is just going to have to wait until next time since he wants to make things so complicating lol.
