Ok i have a 55g....in that tank i have a trio of apisto's (cockatoos) I notice that they breed constantly however recently no fry have been appearing. In the tank are a pair of angels (whom also breed and when they do eggs are gone over night) 3 BN's 1male:2female and 3 albino cories, 2 juli and 2 peppered I noticed no fry were being born after I introduced the cories....are they notorious egg eaters? I was wondering whether I should get rid of the cories and/or angels and or BN's and introduce another trio of apisto. I would like some algae eaters though in that tank that aren't ottos if I had to get rid of my fish....anyway anyone have any suggestions please.

If i just have the apisto in the tank will the fry survive with their parents and the other apistos?

Yep, any bottom dweller will snack on the eggs or fry if they can get hold of them. The only way to stop this is either a) get rid of all bottom dwellers or B) make sure the spawning cave openings are only big enough for the apistos and not the other fish.

A side note: You can also remove the eggs and put them in another (smaller) tank to be born in. Also, are you SURE that they are breeding constantly? One of my females is often yellow and shimmies at the male....even when I don't find eggs. She seems to enjoy teasing the male

There are definetly eggs...ive seen em lol ;) though she still is teasing i bet :D
