Hi, after my near disaster with my guppies that I stopped (I saved all of them and they are still all doing very well!) I'd like to try breeding something a little more challenging than live bearers to see if I can do as well with them.

My 21gal (u.k) tank is nearly fully stocked so I got a very old tank my dad used in the 1980s and cleaned it up and it's now heating up and going to be seeded.
The measurements for the new one is 32cm wide, 92cm long and 31cm deep, can someone tell me a reliable size?
What should I stock in this tank? I'd like to breed some easy fun fish, I looked into cichlids but my tank's too small I think :(.
Fertile Rams are hard to get where I live. Killifish are possible but I wouldn't know what types of fish to keep with them. I've also fallen madly in love with cory and need to be able to add some to this tank, they are adoreable to watch dig into the sand looking for food!
How about a gourami only tank? Although I might get bored of just one species.
Obviously for breeding I'll need a fry tank and that's no problem since I can get a cheap small tank.

Also would it be ok to add guppy fry and snails to this tank to cycle it once it is seeded? I'd have thought fry would be so gradual with their bioload it would be fine.

Im not sure how many gallons your tank holds, but corys are hardy(most of them anyway), easy fun egg laying fish and they also help keep the bottom of the tank clean.
My only concern is that most lfs's don't sell them full grown so you may have to wait a bit until they're mature enough.
Corys do best in groups of at least 4 to 5 and need their diet substituted with catfish pelets(one pelet per cory a day minimum) and they eggs hatch out after about 5 to 8days(i think, not totally sure though as i can't remember how long i waited with mine)

I'd have gotten 6 cory instead of just 3 but I didn't want to risk the bioload. Do you think 3 more will be ok in my current tank?

If I breed Corys would other fish be suitable?
What other species are easy egg layers, Killifish are really interesting the more I read about them and they are really cheap where I live.

You'd realy have to find out how many gallons the tank holds first of all; corys also do much better with sand instead of gravel and long/broad leaved plants to lay their eggs on. They need very good water stats to breed, also doing lots of small water changes over a couple of days in a week helps encourage them.
I wouldn't put any other fish in with them as most fish like to munch on their eggs, even plecs.
