i've got a spare 20 gallon tank so i went to the LFS today and spotted these kribs i can't remember the name something red i was told they are wild kribs, they do look different to the normal ones.
i would like to try and breed them so any advice please, do i need a coconut cave or would slate be better, can i have any tank mate or are they better kept alone.
i'm assuming they are male and female as they are quite different :)

Lovely kribs ,not normal Common kribs though.
They are really nice.

They male looks like a Pelvicachromis taeniatus "Nigerian Red". The female looks to be a regular P. pulcher . Both can be found aquarium bred. Since kribs are not high in demand I would doubt that they are wild caught. They may be. I would put several caves around the tank and do weekly water changes. That's all it takes.

yes that was the name, i was told that they were a pair of Pelvicachromis taeniatus so i hope the female is not a pulcher , ive had a look at a few pics of female taeniatus reds and mine looks the same.
