Some 8 or 9 years ago I was talked into play sand by members on another forum, and I have never regretted changing over all my tanks. Plants grow very well in sand, it is safe for all fish, it looks natural (play sand does), and it visually creates the suggestion of more space.
Thats good to know thanks Byron. I was suprised the amount of people who do use the play sand. Must be well worth it tho with it doing such a good job like you say. At a fair chunk less than you pay for other types in fish stores too :)

This costs a bit more than the argos stuff but its what I changed mine for https://www.swelluk.com/swell-limpopo-black-sand/ - and it needs hardly any rinsing.
Good choice Seangee :good:

I had black sand in my 200 when i first set it up. Goes really well with bright fish and doesnt show any dirt. Only changed it because my tetra complete plant feed kept rising to the top and making a mess.
