Bread Crumbs ?

hmm i wouldn't be to sure about that because, once bread hits water it absorbs this water and really is more like a sponge. So i think this could actually give the fish a problem more then a help.

as i recall from my fishing days, too buch bread in a pond contributes to oxygen loss so in a tank could be worse. please don't quote me on it though :shifty:

May sound crazy, but I read somewhere that tiny bread crumbs are OK for fish. Is this for real and why would you?

I've used dough balls to catch carp here in some of the local lakes, the carp love the dough. I dont know however what the bread would do but I'm assuming if it was fresh the yeast would play some effect in the water quality. I doubt it would really hurt a whole lot but I dont see how it would help either.

if i have some toast i will brush the tiny bits that are left on the plate into the water. my tetras love it

its really not very good for your fish to feed them people-food largely due to all the oils, salts and preservatives that are used to make things tasty. definitely don't feed bread crumbs as a staple diet. it shouldn't be any more than the occasional "treat"

Gave the comet goldie and the rosie red minnow a tiny bit of crumbs from breakfast toast. They seemed to enjoy it. Just a little treat for them.
