i posted a picture of my tank on my facebook page last night and a friend commented that by adding bogwood this could make the water brackish, is this correct ? and what should I do / look out for ?

thanks

Bog wood could possibly lower the ph of the water, ie make it more acidic.

Only a minimal amount though, wouldn't worry about it at all looking at the stock in your signature.

did they mean black water, as in tanin stained.

Brackish water is the halfway point between freshwater and saltwater. Wood cannot making your water salty, unless perhaps it's previously been kept in a salt or brackish setup.
