Bought 2nd Tetratec Ex700 Need Advice Re Using Filters

Just picked up two second hand Tetratec ex700's - do i need to put brand new filters in or can I clean the ones that came with it and use them again? I already own one ex700 so have spare white filter floss but not the other filters. They were used up to Thursday on a cichlid tank.

Planning to cycle them with the Juwels in the tanks already and then run them side by side.

As long as you give the filter media a good wash in hot water they should be ok. Methinks after 4 days the bacteria will have died. Obviously using new filter sponges is the safest but a bit of a waste. If you know the tank they came from was healthy then I can't see a problem.
