Bottom Layer

Hi

My new do!aqua aquarium arived today, Its going to be heavily planted (for its size). Can anyone recommend a good "bottom layer" to go under the sand. There doesnt need to be much at all as its 36c22x26cm. I've been looking at tetraplant complete substrate but i don't even need that much, and my budget is realy small. Any advice is greatly appreciated

There's a variety really you could choose from, Do you intend to Run Co2 or dose with Ferts?
