i have read about crabs shrimps sucker fish ( sorry cant remember their real name), so im not sure whats best.

my tank is a fluval roma 125L

suggestions please would be appreciated.

Thanks.

No such thing as "standard" substrate. What is it? Sand? Gravel? Planting medium? rock? Sharp? This will be very important in sellecting bottom dwelling fish.

Sorry its gravel :good:

Is the gravel nice & smooth or is it jagged in apearance?

This is very important for choosing bottom feeders.

i wouldnt have any bottom dwellers then .... imagine your skin rubbing on it 24/7

plus when bottom dwellers forage they like to get as far down into the substrate as possible which is why most people have sand for bottom dwellers

i do have gravel but mine is so smooth and my corys are active and happy with no barbel damage :)

Yeah, I don't know why the lfs sell the sharp stuff. I put it in one of my tanks because it looks so nice but I believe it has lead to the death of four pleco babies, so no more softbelly or bottom feeding fish until I get that out of there. Any chance of switching it out for smooth round stuff?

Thats a shame, wish i had checked before, my tank is all settled now and i didnt want to disturb it to that extent. -_-
