I am just curious...our office has one of these water cooler dispensers with hot and cold water in 5g bottles. Is this water good for fish? Are there any impurities like heavy metals or additives in this bottled water? You still have to add conditioners to it?

I expect it still has chlorine in it because its the law to do so so that bacteria doesn't grow in it meaning you will still have to dechlorinate it...I wouldn't know about the impuritys it has as that depends on where it comes from but im sure you could find out some info about it of you bought a ph/gh/kh water test kit from your lfs to find out.

The reason I am asking is that I dont have any conditioner here at the office and I want to change my betta's water before I leave for the weekend. I want to try my best to leave him in clean water until I get here on Monday.

SHould I put off the water change until Monday or give the bottled water a try this time. Tap water without conditioner might be more harmful, no?? I'll bring in conditioner on Monday.

It depends on the bottled water really.
I'm at work right now and sitting in an office with two water coolers, one has an upturned 18.5 litre bottle of filtered tapwater which should be chlorine & metal free, and the other has Scottish springwater which is simple pasturised water straight from source. either of these should be fine for fish except that they are very cold!

Does the bottle of water on your cooler say what type it is?
