could you put these two together and are they easy to find in lfs or can they be ordered?
Electric Blue Johannii, Blue Mbuna
Scientific name:Melanochromis johannii; previously Pseudotropheus johannii

Electric Yellow, Yellow Lab, Lemon Yellow

Scientific name:Labidochromis Caeruleus

Thanks so one of each in what size of tank I can go to five feet wide

you need to reaearch mbuna they get to 4" but read up on them so you know what your looking at.

They seem to be the same as the Discus no limestone etc.

I am really unsure what to do.

Live bearers i have and don't really enjoy the continuous breeding.

Most of the fish I like get too big like Bala's Clown Loaches.

Dont like the sound of the aggression in these Clichids if two in a tank and one see's if its there territory could be nasty.

Discus water is wrong.

hmmm getting really depressed now.

Then you haven`t researched these fish properly you will need a 4ft 55g tank and in this tank you will need alot of rock work 2 fish isnt right its not like an oscar or something like that. You can either do a setup like ferris on here have 1 of each species or go with groups so for say a 55g:

3x Melanochromis Johanni although I would go with mainganos look the same but not as aggressive.
3x Labidochromis Caeruleus
3x Metrialclima estherae
3x Pseudotropheus Socolofi either blue or albino
3x Pseudotropheuse elongatus Mpanga
and either a bristle nose plec or some sort of synodotis. You can not mix any other fish with these as they are very aggressive and also need very different water parameters and also most are herbivourous or omnivorous fish so can not digest rich meaty food.

Just remember these fish are very messy so you have to OVER filter.

Thats where I read not overly large but can be aggressive.
Pseudo... Very large
Peaceful - fiesty
23-28 Temp nothing unusual
ph 7.8- 8.6 which to me is hard water like ours .

I don't really want a community of chasing fish, and I am researching etc. It was the other guys post saying about an RMO.

I will not be buying tommorrow either as the tank will be new so will have to mature , go one of these and a pm is hopefull as he has told me it maybe mendable with superglue.

The reason I am and believe me putting all this out is I have Bala's Clown Loaches and had I not bought these without research and people like you to scream Hey they will get massive I would not be in the heart torn mess I am in now.

So please the more peeps tell me now the more I look stupid and write wrong bits tell me.

My pride may get hurt but as Miss Wiggle touched the nerve it really makes you think Do what is best for the fish not me.

Some fish are pretty in pics but I've seen either a large gourami or an Oscar type fish and though they looked not what I say cute to look at. The frontosa was on its own in the shop and looked great .
I looked I saw and this time I did not say I'll buy that one or say to the lfs are they okay together. Yes now they were my balas were pinky size now they are a lot bigger but if they grow at the rate they do at the moment then another three years.

They always said they would take them back and if I can part with them I will but for now the tank needs changing and I need to get fish that can start it and progress to what I want.

Thanks
