Borrowed A Decent Camera

got frustrated not being able to get decent pics of this fish so i borrowed a decent camera got these so far .

this 1 shows the fin patterning quite well

Although they breed fairly easily, I have a soft spot for Acaras, as they were amoungst the first fish I ever bred way back in the early 70's, when my "Exotic Aquarium fishes" by Dr. Herbert Axlerod still described them (and Oscars) as "not yet bred in captivity"..... I thought it was quite an achievement then, but now,..... you have to separate them to stop them from breeding.

Minx.... I think that is a male... a young one, but a male.....(pointed dorsal & anal)... it is very distinctive in Blue Acaras....

You have more experience than me Ludwig, so you're more likely correct, its the breeding tube showing that made me think female.

probably not no. i did toy with it but wouldnt want to be lumbered with lots of fish if i couldnt sell them all, after all not exactly a hard to come by fish.

Shame, been looking for a decent blue acara myself, but the ones Ive seen arent half as good as yours.

its still a possibility for the future . its still a young fish so maybe 1 day .

Lovely looking fish Mark. They really do show some lovely colouring when kept well, which yours obviously is.
