Don't get me wrong I do love them, but I find glowlite tetra's boring, they never do anything.
Do you have a boring fish.

Others might think my fish I have/had are boring but I don't. That's why I have them. :good:

I find most tetras boring, I've got some Neons and some Serpaes.

Bought them because my 3 year old son like the look of them and they never do anything, just goes to show looks aren't everything!!

My favourite is my RTBS- he's called George and I LOVE him!!!

Are they dead?
Thought i should ask, as dead fish would be pretty boring too :shifty:

Yes, I kind of find some tropical fish boring. I'd love to build a tank with a feature fish of a black ghost knife fish, RTBS, something large with the support of schooling fish. If I had a larger tank, I'd definitely get some loaches.

I have an overstocked 5 gallon full of rosey red minnows and 3 "feeder" goldfish. The only fish that get to stay alive are the goldfish as I find them somewhat pretty.

The minnows are simply snacks/feeders for my eel :) I get 12 for one US$ and I find that only one is attractive (nice, full bodied) the others are all pretty meh.

I find alot of live bearers very ordinary aswell as tetra's all they seem to do is swim...swim...swim...eat...for a few years then die...not much enjoyment unless placed in a big school I guess

My glowlights are very entertaining. They sometimes even do a bit of stand up comedy if im really lucky.

You seem rather proud of having an overstocked tank. Do you keep it that way so you can watch fish being eaten alive, with no chance of escape?.

My tanks (10g) are both overstocked by typical standards, however the water is kept clean and all the fish have appropriate swimming room, what does it matter? I keep rosy reds to be eaten by my ACF, cheap source of food, and great when trying to power feed your animals. Whats so wrong with feeders?

The goldfish concern me, how big are they? They could poison your rosy reds pretty fast if you don't keep up water changes. I have no problem with your tank, as long as they are small, and you keep up water changes. I'd start looking for a perminent home for your goldies if you really want to keep them.

No, I keep them in a 5 gallon because it makes for a nutritious, low cost, snack for my eel. Why overstock? Because buying 5 more fish while I'm at the LFS is less expensive than the drive to get up there and back. Would you prefer I said "Yes. I love imagining them screaming as they attempt to free themselves from my eel. It actually fills me with glee."? If it makes you think of me as a tiny bit more human, I had to euthanize a betta today due to Dropsy - and I even researched "humane" ways of doing so. I might have even cried. Amazing.

My feeders get the same assortment of live, freeze dried, and flake food as my other more prized fish, and their water is clean too. Me stating that my tank is overstocked is not me bragging, but stating just that. That it is overstocked. I guarantee they live a better life in my tank than they do at the LFS, though they all end up being fed to something at some point.

There are three 1" goldfish in there, and it gets 50% water change every other day (the water makes wonderful plant fertilizer, btw).

The goldfish will have to leave me at the end of the school year or summer, as the only tanks I'll be keeping up are my two tens. I thought I'd give them a chance at life for a bit at least.
