God! I'm bored with this. Who else tries to put this off (for as long as possible)

(Don't worry, I always make sure I do it whenever the need calls for it)

It gets disheartening when I do regular WC's and try to keep things stable and I still get bacteria and ick problems in some tanks. I sometimes remind myself that losing fish is an inevitable part of keeping them ... but yeah it gets old. Doing a WC every other day on the divided betta tank since they've been losing finnage and acting weird. THAT gets old ... quickly.

I actually think that a WC stressed my cardinals to the point where they got ick. That's the downside to tetras :(

I'm very disheartened at the moment,I've kept up with the water changes in one of my tanks , I purchased 2 clown loaches last week, saw they had white spot at the weekend ,treated the tank, but just looked in it and found my small severum and a clown loach dead. :-(
Thinking is it worth it . :(

if you want to see how long you can leave it between waterchanges - do it properly.

get a test kit and measure the levels in the tank... test the water 2-3 times a week and when the nitrates start to go past say 50, its time to do a change.

our planted tank never raises... but we still do water changes every 3 weeks.

Nah, once a week 50% for both tanks with a hose, takes about 20 minutes, no problemo :D

I don't mind water changes in my tanks at all... it's the 43584902802 little betta bowls that get me down :X

I love water changes. It is tedious at times, but well worth it when your fish are clean and healthy

I don't mind my water changes, I use a python and the sink is in the next room so it takes all of 5-10 minutes to do, guess it's different when you have to use a gravel vac and buckets and have more then 2 tanks.

 i'm just the opposite. i dread cleaning the large tanks. especially when i had 5 going. now that i only have a 5 gal and 20 gal though, i still dread it, and i do put it off sometimes longer than i should, guilty. but the bettas, i dont' know why, but i can just breeze through them (maybe because doing 100% on a little bowl is so easy, instead of waiting for the syphon and doing the whole bucket brigade i still do, no python yet for me). i've even just take a break from something else to clean all the betta containers. i round them up, skip into the kitchen, change 'em all out, then herd them back into the spare room. the bf looks at me like i'm nuts but oh well.
