Switched to sand at the weekend with a little help from this forum (thanks Wolf for saving me £££££'s)

I can't believe how much more the fish seem to like it. It's great watching them dig new homes.

Thanks - I'm really pleased with how well the sand has worked. I'm doing the crab tank today.

RYO - I only picked up the clams yesterday - First lesson already learnt is that crabs + clams = dinner time :grr:

Catfish - It's 240 litres. Even though my gravel was light, the sand made the tank look much bigger.

I second that TOMT nomination.

It looks great :)

i third the nom  awsome tank

btw, whats that orange fish in the 3rd and 6th pic?

Nice one - thanks everyone.

dwarf - it's a blood parrot. One is orange and the other a very deep red. (Not dyed)

Better get off to the hybrid forum now for some sanctuary.....

That looks fab, I switched my tank aorund this morning so 'll get pics up later.

Didn't feel like changing over to sand on that tank though, too much extra work!

Yours looks great though, and by the way if your doing sand in your crab tank they will love it, i did mine a month or 2 back now and they immediately made boroughs under stones.

Nice looking plecs aswell, whats the one under the wood on the sand in te first pics?

Paul - It's a Bulldog plec - ugly and certainly a bully. He rules the tank at the moment. Even the Parrots won't go near him.

I forth that nom. That tank its awsome!

A question, How do u make that blue affect in your tank? i would love doing that to mine, would actually make it half decent.

Wow - 4 noms, shame that the OTM comp seems to have been forgotten about again.

Sam - I've added an Interpet Blue Moon 36" tube which I use for 30 mins before main lights come on and 3 hours after lights out.
