So has anyone ever tried putting a dead bonsai tree in their aquarium? I got inspired after looking at the aqua trees, has anyone tried it?

umm, i dont think that would work very well, but tell me how it goes if you are going to try it.

As long as it's long dead, and a 'safe' kind of tree, you would be ok.
