OK, I just almost placed an order at liveaquaria for a pair of Bolivian Rams and some nerite snails..... I was so close to clicking Submit Order but forced myself to click Cancel instead.

I *know* I don't need another pair of fish.

Or do I?........ :fun:

you need several more pairs of fish... and a couple big aquariums too!!

forgive the sarcasm above... I had to speak from the heart first...

That is a question you could answer much better than any of us. How does your current filtration handle your current bio-load? Does your tank appear empty, or comfortable? How big is your Sev now and when he/she is full grown will she/he stay in the tank (8" Sevs require a lot more room than 3" Sevs)? Same question about the Angels.

One of the biggest mistakes I see a lot of people make is they buy enough fish to 'fill' their tank now... then 3, 6 12 months later the fish have reached maturity and the tank is way overstocked. As we start our aquariums we all think, "Oh I'll be getting a bigger tank before long..." but that is a dangerous assumption to make. We can never predict the future. I have no clue how full your tank seems to be now and I'm not saying this applies to you.... but just a good rule of thumb... when I stock a tank I try to picture the fish full grown and only stock a tank with what it can handle full grown.

That's all the input I have... the rest... is up to you.................

a pair would fit awfully nice in your 46 :hey:

:p

Thanks for the advice!! The tank seems a little empty now, but the sev is still a juvy and so's the angel. They're both only at about 2", max. The kribs are full grown and as for the tetras, well, they just are there for some movement in the tank.

I really can't plan on buying another tank - I've been told (by my wonderful, loving husband) that 2 tanks is enough   He bought this one for me as an anniversary present for me last year and I bought the 10g when he was out of town.

My filter handles the bioload very well. I have an AC300 on there and am very happy with it. I do water changes every 2 wks and the nitrates are still in the acceptable range. I think it helps that my angel and sev are still so small.

So OK, I know I shouldn't. My husband was out of town but he's back now so that usually serves to keep me from those impulse purchases

I think that was good judgement by your husband to call it quits at two tanks... Although did he specify that it had to be those two tanks or will he be upset when you trade them in for larger ones?

 I'm pretty sure it's *these* two tanks and that's it :p

My plan (shhh, don't tell) is when we have to move (he's Army so we move every few years) is to sell/give all my fish back to the LFS since taking them with me most likely won't be practical anyway. Then, convert my 46g into a SW reef tank ;)
