Hi, i've had two bolivian rams for a while now, when i first bought them i was under the impression that is was 1 male and 1 female (as it said on the info card above the tank). But since they have been in the tank, one is hiding behind bogwood at the back and is chased away by the other one when it comes out.
I'm starting the think it is two males, because their fins look nearly identicle. Would i be better taking one back if they fight (will they?). Or will they be ok?

Thanks :good:

males rarely get along.... they are very teretorial.... send pics so we can make sure that they are both male

sometimes its best to have 2 females for every male

Males have a crown and an elongated dorsal fin, the female has no crown and a rounded dorsal fin.

would one male be ok on their own? Because i could give one to my dad who has a 20 gallon but soon upgrading to 80 gallon to house the clowns and bala shark (both currently around 3 inches), with golden gourami, guppies, platies, mollies, clowns and bala shark.

yeah he could have it. Only problem is the Bala sharks will get too big for an 80gallon and will end up eating the guppies -_-

The guppies and everything are staying in the same tank (rekord 80), the clowns and shark are moving into the larger one. I know the shark will get too big, the 80 gallon will be big enough for a couple of years right?

So one of the rams will go into his tank, and i will lookout for a couple of females.
