Bolivian Ram Housing

Hehe so we're at 2-2 then! Hmm what to do, what to do... I wish I could ask it personally!

So if I was unable to determine the sex of my current Ram, went into a LFS and got another and it turned out I had 2 males or 2 females, would this pose a problem? And would this be better than housing a Ram on it's own?

2 males would, not sure about the females.

How big is the tank? Rams are fine to be kept in small groups of around 5.

The tank isn't that big really, it's a second hand corner tank (thus weirdly shaped) so I'm not sure the exact size, but it's around 75 litres. My current tank I've always felt to be a little small and over crowded, its 60 litres and has a few fish in it, so basically I'm putting half in one and half in the other whilst adding a single Ram.

Oh and also I wouldn't be getting a small group of 5 Rams. Just another one Ram to add to the one I've got, so if it was a double male scenario I'd be a little concerned they may start fighting. That's why I'd love to find out the sex of my current one and get it a mate, plus it might be nice to see if they breed.

2 max...as a rough guide you want about 2 rams per 20 gallons

Yeah I figured 2 would be as many as I could happily acommodate, all the more reason for me to ensure thqt I get a pairing.

So the general concensus is that I have a young male?

I've had the fish for around 6 months and it hasn't grown a great deal in that time, would that suggest that it is on its way to reaching maturity? It's around 3 inches long and I've read they only get up to about 4 and half and only live for between 2-4 years.
