Bolivan Rams

i had a pair of bolivans in my community tank,i ended up with fin rot in my tank,which i treated but lost one of the rams,which only left me with 1 ram,the 1 that was left was fine but he stopped eating for about a week,then i found him dead,all my other fish are fine.could the remaining ram have become depressed with him being the only ram in the tank? any advice would be welcome as i would like to give these fish another shot in the future.

Bolivian rams are still sensitive fish..

I don't know much about fin rot but I always thought it was caused by bad conditions, and if that was so then thats the reason the ram died. A ram not eating doesn't even make sense so there must of been something wrong with him, bacterial infection/parasites I reckon.
