Hi all, I'm after a fairly large quantity of Bolbitis for a Walstad style planted tank but can't seem to find it anywhere in the UK.

I saw it on Java Plants, but the price was £4.10 per plant. Now, depending on what their definition of "per plant" is, I might get it from there. Do they mean a proper potted/bunch of plants or will it just be a tiny individual clump?

Any help is appreaciated. :)

With the quantities I need I'd probably end up buying the mother plant though and at £25 I think it'd be cheaper to just take up heroin. :)

Damn you Amano for all your beautiful looking Bolbitis laden tanks!!!

 Chris, we all know you'd rather be addicted to planted tanks than heroin! Drugs are bad, M'kay.

I would just buy a small plant. Bolbitis, given the right conditions, grows quite well. I started off with a small, 2 inch clump and now I have a plant that is nearly 10 inches tall and almost as wide, and a second daughter plant that is about 6 inches across. It dominates my 20g and is firmly attached to my piece of mopani. The 20g has had the bolbitis since late August, I think, and the plant has been under my care since June. It was just in a different tank. Once the plant is big enough, you can divide the rhizome and make new plants. Bolbitis likes current, so placing the plant under a strong filter spray would be an advantage.

llj :)
