I've had my tank running for a few weeks now, everything is going absolutely fine apart from one thing... my water is brown! I've added a pretty hefty piece of bogwood and another smaller one in as I thought the fish would love spaces to hide (and they do) but it's turning my water almost completely brown!
I did a huge water change today (in excess of 60%) and it's still pretty yellow, I have a feeling its already turning it darker! Is there anything else I can do to remove the tannins from the wood? As I live up 2 flights of stairs from the tap I'm not a massive fan of huge water changes!

you can put activated carbon into the filter to remove tannins, but personally i wouldn't bother, as i think it's a waste of money, when you can dilute and get rid of it with water changes, and it is good for the fish and plants anyway.
