Boesemani Rainbow Fish Feeding Behaviour

Hi, I recently purchased some Boesemani Rainbow Fish about 3 months ago. When I first brought them they would jump out of the water at feeding times, and swim round my aquarium like bullets. But they no longer do that, they just swim round slowly whilst nibbling the food. I have even tried not feeding them for 2 days, they still stayed the same. Could anybody please tell me why this is happening? Is it because I don't feed them live food?? Thanks!

Because they aren't so hungry? Younger and more active fish will want more food, they do seem to calm down a little as they settle into the tank and realise they will get all the food they need without having to fight for it!
