Bn Plec Tears In Fin

my BN plec has some tears in the dorsal fin. how would this happen, and will it grow back?

Whats the tank size? what other fish are in there? how long have you had him?
They should heal back fairly quickly aslong as they have clean water.

its a 4ft by 12 by 18
and some mollys and guppies etc.

Might have been the mollies they can be a little nippy. Are there any sharp objects in the tank.

no i have checked it all and also i have two big filters in there. so the water in very good.

could he have got stuck somewhere and torn his fin in the struggle to get out, plenty of water changes and his fin will heal very quickly

So you have good water quality so the fin should be clean and heal up well.

ok i was just checking it wasnt to do with the changing temps etc

my adult female bn tears her dorsal fin all the time, heals back quickly tho. she does it when fighting over territories with my talking cat and one of the clown pleco's.- i say fighting, its more like nudge or be nudged then she darts away at lighting speed, she must be one of the fasted bn's in existence
