Which species? Most hybrids and species will live to around 10-12 years, some live longer, some less.

Had a bristlenose (just your common type, that im having a mental blank over the name lol) who was 17 years old (original owner gave us the old receipt LOL) and the begger is still going now 2 years later so he has to be 19 now. Not a youngster! He is massive as normal BN go though.

Never been kept in anything less than 500L though with exception of 260L quarantine.

just weird, I had a few from a breeder about 3 or 4 years ago ( I think) Three of them died yesterday, all were they same age and were in different tanks. evey thing else is fine.

Either something nasty that passed through them, a similarly poor diet or more likely a hereditary defect. If you bred them yourself, id split up the original pair...

I have also seen this type of thing happen after the fish were exposed to non-fatal, but harmful amounts of ammonia, it usually happens a few months to a few year later.
