Hi i was jst woundering as i have looked on the pinned notice about three spots n nlues being the hardyest of gouranis if they could live with my male betta?

Most likely the gouramis would pick on the Betta. Next most likely is that the Betta would pick on the gouramis. Least likely is that all would get along fine.

Uuuhhh dang

I only ask cause i got 3 dg last week 1m-2fm and the male died dnt know why symptoms where loss of appitite and being lathargic and i wonted a hardyer type of gourami :(

Is there any that will be hardyer then dg's?

I'm kind of surprised your male Dwarf and Betta got along ok. Yeah, Dwarfs do seem to be the least hardy. I wouldn't give up on them after just one though. I have a real nice Powder Blue Male. I made sure to pick a nice strong looking one when I bought him. I've had him a few months now and so far so good. How big is your tank? That could be a factor in whether or not you want to try the Three Spot varieties.

Hi my tank is 3ft by 1ft by 1.5ft 130l my smallest one lol

With the dwarfs i do prefer their looks to the others i jst dnt wont to loose any it wldnt be fair but i will have anotger go with them :)

U cld say im scared that im going to kill them :(

What about opaline gouramis are they sturdy?

(sorry bout spelling aswell)

Yes, Opalines are sturdier. Watch out for the males though. They can be tough. Opalines, Blues, Three Spots, Platinums, and Gold Gouramis are all just color varieties of the same fish, which can easily reach five inches in length. A little big for your size tank.

Hell yeh what are the smaller looking ones other tge dg? Theres acc a thread on tge on here with sme pictures in

Found them three stripped the threads called

First of all, remember that the Red Flame, Powder Blue, and Dwarf are all the same fish in different color variants. The Honey Dwarf is a different fish, smaller, but can also be delicate in my experience. There are a bunch of small types of gouramis, most have a kind of Betta shaped body, so I could see your Betta causing problems with them. These include Sparkling, Licorice, and a few others. Going the other way, up in size, Thick-Lipped looks like a bigger form of Dwarf, and is hardier. Male would probably chase Betta. Pearl gets 4" and is less aggressive than most, but the male would probably still mess with your Betta. If you like gouramis, I would swap out the Betta, then you could have some females of whatever type you want, and one male.

Yeh i think ill hold off on the gouramis then as my brothers male fighter is in a breeder box atm as we have fry in his tank and ofcaurse he thinks they taste good :p

Just until i loose a betta :(
