Well, I bought a pair of Blue Rams yesterday, and they looked fine when they were in the shop. When I brought them home, they looked a little pale but I thought it was because of the scare of getting sloshed around in a bag. I put them into a Q tank, and they didn't seem to get any better after a while. They were still pale and sitting on the bottom. Only this morning I realized my temp was at 74, and they like it 80+!
So I gradually put it up, but I think the damage has been done. The female is getting its colour back, and is off the ground, but the male is still looking pretty pale and sitting on the ground. He occasionally swims around, but I don't know... Would a picture help more?

Give them a couple days to settle in. Young gbr's have poor pale coloring so they may be juveniles. gbr's become more colorful with age. Try feeding them color enhancing foods with a high quaity pellet, 2 of the best are hikari and nls.

They were nice and bright in the shop, but when I brought them home they became pale...
I will post some pics tomorrow.

It is probably just stress, I wouldn't worry about it too much, unless they are still very pale after 3 or 4 days. I would also check water stats and make sure everything is okay on that end. :good:

I have 2 blue rams and they really havent become both full coloured yet and they have been home for well over a week..when i turn the light on that seems to make one of them go pale and at night they both colour up.

I would not be too worried yet for your lot. Have a look at them when you turn the light off at night to see if they change colour...

OK, thanks for your help, I was freaking out a bit. They look a lot better now and are kind of swimming around, and they are getting their colour back.

Thanks!
