This is like their 10th batch of eggs that they have laid.
Sometimes i get to around 10 days and then all the fry go missing one morning. I think maybe the fish are stressed and eat the young.
It is a 75 gallon tank with about 25-30 fish.
They always lay the eggs in the same spot, on the biggest flat rock in the tank.
Now, should I carefully move the rock to a different tank and use some meth blue to make sure that no fungus grows.
or should I let them hatch to the point when they are basically swimming and then just put them in a fry tank.
The 2 rams are too fast to catch with a net and with the size of the tank and plants, they would be almost impossible to catch.
So thats what I have to work with. any thoughts?
oh and I recorded some footage of them giving birth and fertilizing the eggs. It is pretty neat. You can actually see her lay the egg with her little tube and the male stick out his willy
, and glide over them.
Amazing process!!
