I can't believe it...my Rams layed eggs...I'm so happy...yet, nervous...I feel so excited...it's like I'm going to be a mom all over again (except much easier for me- yay) :)
They're guarding the eggs...I saw my male Rams (they're taking turns) 'hiding' in one of my rocks, and thought something was wrong with them...upon closer inspection I noticed hundreds of little white balls...
What do I do now...I would love to try and raise them...I guess I'll start doing my reading...any help would be greatly appreciated!
TIA

Congrats, EMdina! :)

I am at work and on a pc that is too slow to go look at the other thread so I'll assume that it's been answered in detail there but for a short answer, You don't have to do anything yet. :)

Hi
Well, I don't see anymore eggs...and yesterday the female, while fanning them, kept bending over and putting her mouth on them...I couldn't tell if she was eating them or cleaning them...I never saw her scoop any but I did see her spit a couple out...I sat there with my face pressed against the glass of the tank for hours...I'm sure my kids think I'm totally nuts! :) Even if the eggs don't make it (or the fry) it has been so much fun to watch them (male and female) taking turns fanning the eggs and taking care of them...they tag team eachother- one will swim out while the other fans- then the fanner swims out and nudges the other one to go back...it's fascinating...WOW, I'm a geek! :)
Thanks for the link...I will keep you updated if I see any fry or anything else exciting! If I can pry my face off of the tank long enough to type (the kids and husband have been forced to forage for their own food- oh dear) :fun:
