Ok my blue ram is getting really skinny now. I've seen him try to eat but he always spits its
out like it's too difficult to swallow. I've tried peas incase he was constipated but as he can't really swallow them there's not much point. He gets blood worms in his mouth and keeps them there tring to swallow then gives up and spits them out about 45 secs later. His missus is fine quite plump really and there's no bullying going on it the tank either. I've just finished treating the tank for internal bacteria with melafix and anti bac no 9.

Ammonia is 0
Nitrite is 0
Nitrate is 25
and PH is 7.6 all the other fish are fine.

they get flake food, blood worm, peas, cucumber, prawns and variety sinking pellets. Nothings working plus i dont think he'd starve himself to death just cos something taste bad. surely he'd eat it just cos he was hungry?

Classic symptons of wasting desease, taking food and spitting it out. You need Flubendazole (I use it for killing Hydra in fry tanks) or similar, but I'm just afraid that it may be too late to save the Ram.
Read this Killifish article. Near the bottom of page one and see if your fish is showing these symptoms.

Contact Bloo on this forum, she knows about this aswell.

He could also have a sore in his mouth.

Sounds like to me he's losing weight because he can't eat, wasting away is when they eat food and still waste away.

Do you know where I can get this from?

The gills look fine.

how can i tell if he has a sore in his mouth and more importantly what can i do about it?
Surely melafix would of helped that?

Flukes can be caugt off new fish or plants, they also can have a few flukes won't notice the symtoms till the fish gets stressed and they start to do the damage.
He could have a sore in his mouth does he swim with his mouth open.
Any signs of the fish also flicking and rubbing on objects.

There's been a little flicking but it stopped after the bacterial treatment. He opens his mouth like normal but doesnt seem to close it all the way when he's breathing.

Can you issolate him he might have a sore in his mouth and i would try a bacterial med again.
Is he laobured breathing.

no breathing seems to be normal i have a quarantine tank with a poorly platy in it i could put him in there and treat him.

Look at swimming with an open mouth.
And wasting away.

Is it possible to load a pic of him onto the board.
Just want to check no sgins of a bent spine.

There three option flukes but it dosn't sound like it as there no flicking.
Could be a sore in his mouth as he has two symtoms, open mouth and spitting.
the last one is fish tb.

Also he could have something lodged in his mouth, this is hard to do on small fish.
Can you wet a clean cloth in tank water wrap him in the cloth, sterlise some tweezers before, and try and take a look in his mouth.

If you can't do that last procedure i would try a bacterial med again on him.

There is no bent spine this is the best picture i could get of him. He was sitting in front of the glass and i checked in his mouth best i could i didnt see anything in there so i dont think its that.

Bless him he looks under the weather.
What colour is it when he goes to the toilet.
Can you try and check the anus to see if its enlarged or red and inflamed.
To be honest its not looking good.
