i have two gouramis, a male and female, now i just got them about a month or two ago, and i'm having some slight problems
the male for the first month was constant chasing the female around and giving her a nip and then swimming away, which totally stressed out the female
now, the male is constantly hiding under a rock cave i made for him, or in a fake log in there, so now he barely ever comes out, even to eat, and he still only comes out to eat the odd time, or to pick on the female, once he nips her once he goes and hides again
any ideas on the problem?

What other fish have you got in the tank?
In general, blue gouramis are best not kept as pairs. The bigger chases the smaller until it dies, then your left with one. In general, keep them in groups of 4, or alone.

Yes i have the same problem, i also have one male and one female and they do exactly this. some days are better than others, as in some days they get along and sometimes they dont. My male just hides behind my pump and the female is forced to the bottom of the tank. Ive had mine only a week.

Sorry i cannot help with much advice but i just thought id let you no that your not the only one.... lol
