Blue Gouramis Chase

There are no rules and regulations for the shops to sell males or females or even label them as one or the other with some obvious exceptions.

In fact, most shops 'refuse' the sex fish because if they make a mistake, they are then liable for any problems caused by those fish.

If you go storming down the demanding they sort this problem out, they are well within their rights to shrug their shoulders and leave you in the lurch, not good for the fish trade but completely normal for business sense.

However, if it is a decent shop and you go down their understanding that in all fairness, its probably nothing to do with the poor lackys that actually work in the shop!!

Explain your problem, tell them that its causing you upset (if you have kids, thats a good card to play... its upsetting your kids!!), explain that you think you have three males, dont accuse them of not mentioning that they were all male, its not their problem so accusing them wont make them help... ask them nicely if they can help you, by means of swapping the fish or what can they suggest?

Always play the humble one! I promise you, its more likely to work, i would know, im a sucker for helping people who have had bad advise from other shops. I always try my best to sex fish as i sell them, even down to tetras butif a customer specifically asks me to sex something, i will tell them there is no guarantees but if i have missexed them, i will do my best to swap one to try again for a pair etc. But if i had a customer come in and say "you sold me three male gouramis and now they are killing each other... what are you going to do about it?" Id probably just stare blankly and say 'nothing'. Dont need people to be rude to me to get help.

Always play the sad case LOL :good:
