symptons have changed to something i know well white spotts and ripped fins

so he is now being treated with fin rot and fungas medicine.

Have you used a parasite med.
The white spots do you mean whitespot the parasite.
Anti fungus and finrot med not ok.

fin rot as in torn tatty fins i Can deal with this disease as i have had it loads before

Finrot is mainly caused by bad water quality.
Have you treated for the parasites yet, as if you have more than one tank you cans spread it to others.
