Blue Acara

a cpuple of months ago i got a red striped severum and a blue acara both were in the same tank in the lfs whilst the severum has grown a hell of a lot the blue acara altho seemingly nice and healthy with good colouration just hasnt grown even a tiny bit. are they just slow growing for a cichlid or could there be another reason?
water stats are all good tank is a 100uk gallon fed on frozen cichlid diet bloodworm livefood and flake/pellet with occasional prawn treats he is currently around 4 inches

They are fairly slow growing Mark, mine didnt seem to grow much either, Im sure he isnt stunted as you have a nice large tank and I know you feed well. He will grow, you just wont notice it too much and in comparison to the sev he probably will seem small.

great thanks. thats good to know reading up before getting him i kept seeing that they reach 6 to 8 inches and didnt think mine was ever gonna grow! guess il just have to wait for him to grow bigger slowly

He'll get there, probably more 6 than the 8, he probably has grown some, but seeing him everyday you dont notice as much.

yeah im only expecting around 6 inches 8 would be nice will make sure he keeps getting good quality food and see how he does

acaras usually reach 6 inch only the wild ones tend to get to 8 inches so iv heard
