Got a diddy Blue Acara yesterday, though not sure what sex it is as it's very small. I think it may be female because of the dorsal fin being quite round but wondered if any experts could tell the difference?

Just a few of my Bolivian Rams because they've really coloured up now.

The males anal and dorsal fins are longer than the females.

Would this mean I have a male or female or is it too soon to tell?

The acara looks a bit small to sex how big is it? I couldn't sex mine by the dorsal until they were about 3 inches but by then i had already guessed correctly because the males were growing faster and ended up noticeably bigger.

It's about an inch long... My Bolivians are around 2 inches so you can see the size difference. Silly to think the Acara will get so much bigger!

I guess I'll have to see how he/she grows!
